Deano took on the Cardiff Half Marathon 2026 in a special anniversary race. This was a very significant occasion for Deano, as it is marked ten years since his first ever run, at the Cardiff Half Marathon 2016. Since then, Deano the Dementiasaurus has completed races up and down the country to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s Research, but his fundraising has taken on an even more personal meaning since his Mam was diagnosed with dementia and passed away in summer 2026. Cardiff will always hold a special place in Deano’s heart, and he was not to be disappointed as he was roared on by fantastic crowds all along the route.

The day before the Half Marathon, Deano completed the Cardiff Parkrun in the beautiful Bute Park, a parkrun he had done many times when living in Cardiff – he even bumped into some old buddies from the CDF Runners Club!
