Deano the Dementiasaurus takes on the challenge of the 2017 Great North Run
Great North Run 2017

In September 2017, Deano the Dementiasaurus ran the world's biggest half marathon, the Great North Run, to raise money and awareness for dementia research. It was hot, painful, and very very sweaty, but Deano did it, plodding around in about 2:15.

Throughout the race, Deano was roared on by the wonderful Geordie public, who were chanting his name, handing out sweets (jelly babies are Deano's favourite), and high fiving their favourite dinosaur.

Deano didn't even mind being narrowly beaten by 3 other dinosaurs - at least Deano was the only dinosaur to acknowledge every child along the route, who would surely all agree that inflatable velociraptors are no match for a Dementiasaurus!
